Sega Sammy Business Report 2015

Not much new that wasnt already in the fiscal report. Interresting nonetheless. The Resort business seems to be losing money immadietly...long term, like the Amusement Centers I dont really see the point in the desire to grow that business.

228 Million downloads tough!

Also the advertising of Persona and Sonic Boom at the same time is some kind of oxymoron

Q1 report

http://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/pdf/release/201603_1q_tanshinhosoku_e_final.pdf

I'm confused as to what they consider digital and packaged games. Is Tembo and Yakuza 5 a packaged game? Also 34 titles.

Well their forecast predicts a return to slight profitablity in arcades and packaged games, while mobile will presumably be the new pachinko - in terms of leading profitablity.

Yakuza  and Tembo  aren't considered digital games, one of their recent reports clarified digital games meant MMO and SEGA/Index/Sammy mobile games.

Good quarter considering they had no new pachinko machines and had virtually no major titles in this period.

You know which report that was? It makes sense as they considered PC Online and mobile as digital games...

So I guess everything F2P is digital games, with the exception of pay to play on mobile devices.

Kinda confusing, why not split F2P and make pay to play all the SKU's.

Overall, though, Sega made a loss of ¥7.9 billion ($63.6 million) in the first quarter, down from a ¥5.1 billion profit last year, and total revenue slipped by 41 per cent to ¥53 billion ($427 million). The company's management attributed this to its Pachislot, where sales fell 83 per cent due to an absence of new releases, and made a ¥6.7 billion ($54 million) loss overall.

What a fucking mess... They have 5 mobile games making 5 million yen each per month... Where does it all go?

Just wait till the big pachi sales comes in, it will wipe the floor with all mobile games.

Regarding comments online, is there any company that releases finance results with their successfull titles, where people go "hell yeah, you go company x". I mean even Nintendo never mentions any sales of Bayo 2 or whathaveyou but just Amiiboo sales etc.

"A tree should not cover the forest".

Just wait, this will be a good financial year for SEGA-Sammy in the end, especially the games division.

I want to know what their estimate/future forecast will be when they get involved with VR Project Morpheus.
I heard they have that new Hatsune Miku VR Tech, if that is true, I am very interested in purchasing actual stock shares prior to all this happening.

Yeah, I guess Sony is shy on videos getting out on that Miku VR game, since they flagged our youtube channel for having it.
