Most powerful (Canon) Sega Characters?
« on: December 11, 2014, 08:43:27 am »
Who are some of the most powerful characters in Sega? This can only count powers/abilities that they have in actual canon works (mainly games I guess).

Feel free to mention anyone you think is up there or has impressive abilities, or who could 'win in a fight' etc.

Some notable contenders:

Kazuma Kiryu
Can KO a tiger by just punching it in the face.

When he gets 'Heat' he's able to dodge bullets and survive knife wounds etc. It seems he's only weakness is getting injured during a cut-scene, otherwise he's able to withstand ridiculous amounts of injury and shrug it off, especially if he's carrying packets of ramen and curry in his pockets.

With a substitute stone, he can literally be killed and come back to life.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Not awfully strong but he can move at the speed of sound unassisted, which alone put's him into a broken-tier powerful league. With a chaos emerald he can manipulate time, which also is just stupidly powerful. With 7 chaos emeralds he can fly and seems to become invincible (although still able to die by falling into a bottomless pit).

Not sure how effective he is at actually hurting people, since his spin-dash seems to be pretty weak now compared to what it used to be. Having said that, being hit by ANYTHING moving at the speed of sound will kill you.

Eternal Champion

An immortal who lounges around and decides which of the best fighters in the world should get another chance at life. Then he fights them. Master of several styles of martial arts and has some gnarly supernatural stuff too.

Bayonetta

Bayonetta is pretty much outrageously powerful. She beats up angels for a living, wrecks demons when they turn against her.
She's able to summon a number of powerful demons from the inferno to fight for her due to various pacts she's made, and has the power to stop time (Witch Time).

Not only that, but she can stop time, while time is already stopped (in various boss fights, time is already slowed, but she can still activate witch time to slow it down again and gain the upper hand).

Her alchemy can make her temporarily invincible, regain health or give her power boosts (although she's already strong enough to topple buildings and throw space-stations with her bare hands).

Having said that, you would think she gets my vote for most powerful being in Sega but...

Rodin

Some minor spoilers:

Seemingly just a bar-keeper and weaponsmith, he's already pretty damn powerful by the fact that he travels to the Inferno to take demons and transform them into weapons for Bayonetta to use.

It's eventually revealed that Rodin is actually a fallen Angel who led a campaign to conquer Paradiso. Although he failed, he was so feared that he was banished to Inferno. Even still, it seems Inferno couldn't hold him, as he's routinely chilling in Purgatorio and travelling back to the Inferno to kick the shit out of demons and turn them into weapons for Halos.

Even when fighting alongside Bayonetta in Bayo 2, he fights without weapons and can one-hit kill enemies that Bayonetta needs to pummel with weave attacks repeatedly. He can shoot lazers from his eyes and rend demons apart with his bare hands.

Why is he collecting Halos? Well if he collects enough it restores him to his full power, when that happens he's pretty much the most powerful Sega character I can think of (if he wasn't already).

END SPOILERS;

Any other suggestions? Any under-rated/over-rated characters?
(this topic is all just a bit of fun after all)

I got a couple to add:

Sam (M'fuckin) Gideon:

After playing Vanquish, I struggle to find any other 3rd Person shooter threatening, knowing full well that Sam Gideon would mow their baddies down without breaking a sweat.

Epsilon Eagle

Sam's 16-bit counterpart.

And the supreme power in Sega:

Jianmin - Shenmue 2

Just try to hit him.

Special Power: Deforestation

Altered Beast's Roman Centurion

Zeus himself called upon him from the dead to go rescue his daughter from a Demon God. He absorbs the spirit balls of slaughtered bulls and gradually increases in muscle mass, until he reaches peak power and transforms into either a pyro werewolf, static dragon, an olympic bear and furry ryu hayabusa. He's the roman equivalent of Doom guy with no weapons.

The "real" Napoleon from Rhythm Kaito R & Rhythm Thief & Paris Caper

Too bad I can't say much about him since it will contain major spoiler
Here's a pic of Isaac's talking to Napoleon (not shown).

Monkey King from Golden Gun

Whatever story that contains Monkey King / Sun Wu Kong as character, he is always such a strong character, including this one.

Nerf was a pretty powerful customer..could control the dead..had the legions of hell at his leisure and had the power to turn into a beast or monster as well.

Death Adder is pretty powerful since he was able to control the dead..and come back from the dead in the arcade sequel(s).

Azel from PDS was also very powerful in her own right...

Dark Dragon of Shining Force..

And of course Mother Brain of Phantasy Star...

Gals of Valkyria

world destruction..since Kyrie, had the power to destroy the world...which he kinda did...

Isn't Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars really powerful? Her dad was a superpowerful demon slayer and she inherited the power by blood or something.

Yes, she is, especially when she's jealous (of Ogami's being admired by Kaguya in the Project X Zone), she became more more more powerful.  ;-D
