SEGA Europe: AVP fastest selling game this year

SEGA of Europe have just tweeted that Aliens vs. Predator is the fastest selling game of the year, in  the UK. This means it beat heavy weight titles like Mass Effect and even their own  Bayonetta.

“News just in; AvP is the fastest selling game this year and also no.1 in the all-formats chart here in the UK.“

I guess critical reception is not needed to sell megaton copies, you just need to sprinkle some badass license characters and watch it explode.

    :P luv this game i bought the hunter edition of the game with the face hugger (xbox 360 version)took it to work and scared the s__t out of the girls at work imature i know but so much fun then i met a real face hugger in the nightclub sat night :lol:the sound is fantastic effects great im happy enough with the graphics no mass effect 2 standard but cant have everything just 1 MAGOR PROBLEM why do i have to wait nealy 20 mins in the lobby for an online game this will kill the game if something is not done im just a lowly gamer so maybe soemone in charge will read this and contact rebellion so they make up a patch after all its mainly an online game.Sales of this game will effect if alien colonial marines is made for late relaese in 2010 i pray this game is made huge fan of AvP but if they make it hope they take all the negative points from AvP 3 and set them right in Alien colonial marines.Well thats my view for what its worth peace.

    I hear good things about the game from users, I only played the demo and hope to get it this week and do a review for the site…

    Though just regular edition here, I don’t know if US got the hunters edition?

    I’m shocked the game is doing as well as it is. I guess I underestimated the power of the Aliens brand.

    This game has been marketed like crazy in the uk (kudos Sega!) which is probably a massive help in sales.

    I have seen literally 20 ads ( I don’t get out much) on tv for this game, even one aired during the showing of pradtor.
